(18MRQ019-MARQ)

Formative Itinerary of the Cultural Landscape of the Alicante countryside. The Huerta of Alicante

Itinerari formatiu del Paisatge Cultural del Camp d'Alacant. L'Horta d'Alacant.

INTRODUCTION

The Camp d'Alacant and, therefore, the Huerta of Alicante, treasure a cultural and historical heritage of incalculable value that is currently in the process of disappearing due to the intense anthropic and urbanising action that exists in the surroundings of the city of Alicante. Huerta towers, dams, irrigation channels, mills, crops, irrigation traditions, music, customs, make up an enormous heritage that needs to be recovered, preserved and enhanced.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  • Locate and learn about the cultural and historical richness of the Camp d'Alacant in the

time and space.

-       Eliminate related stereotypes by creating an image that is more faithful to the historical and cultural reality we know.

-       To learn about the structure of the different archaeological, historical, ethnographic, cultural and traditional heritage elements of Camp d'Alacant, which preserve a unique heritage with more than 500 years of history.

-       To appreciate and highlight the importance of this unique cultural heritage in our province and its capacity to become a tourist, cultural and social asset in its own right.
