From mid-December, the MARQ will be exhibiting a representative collection of archaeological pieces from the different cultures that have occupied Guardamar and its territory from its earliest occupation to the present day. Panels, audiovisual and interactive media, suggestive reconstructions of the evolution of the coastline and computer graphics of some sites will guide visitors in understanding the most important milestones in the history of Guardamar. One of the great attractions of this carefully designed montage is that it shows the profound connection between human beings and the geographical environment and their achievements in transforming the landscape for their benefit, an example of which is the work carried out by the engineer Mira to fix the dunes at the mouth of the Segura River, which threatened to bury the town centre at the beginning of the 20th century.
