Phases of the Eastern Gate

The gate that opened on the eastern flank of the wall underwent various modifications throughout its history. The first of the gates, dating from the 3rd century BC, has not been excavated and therefore only its location is known.

Through the nearby fields, the access road to the city would lead to the eastern gate?
