DIM 2024. Museums for education and research

With the slogan "Museums for Education and Research", proposed by ICOM for International Museum Day 2024, aims to highlight the importance of museums as dynamic educational institutions that foster learning, discovery and cultural understanding. Gabor Palotai (Gabor Palotai Design), celebrated for an award-winning, cutting-edge design philosophy, has lent its artistic prowess to create a visually stunning and conceptually profound poster that encapsulates the essence of the theme. The poster, set against a sophisticated black background, depicts the iconic museum "M" in various vibrant colours, symbolising the diverse spectrum of knowledge that museums impart to the world. The abstract composition is a visual metaphor for the vast repository of information that museums house, waiting to be explored and shared.

From the MARQ Foundation, through the Didactics, Accessibility, LLumiq Club and Social Responsibility Unit, we will focus this day on rethinking education and imagining a future in which the exchange of knowledge transcends barriers; in which innovation joins tradition. Our activities, on the occasion of the DIM-24, will be aimed both at improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups (offering both educational workshops and visits for them), building a more informed and inclusive world, and also at reinforcing the fundamental role of museums in education and research, placing special emphasis on our youngest audiences.

We will count on the participation of local and provincial Associations and Institutions related to people with disabilities and social responsibility that are part of the MARQ family.
