TALES OF THE MARQ

VII EDITION OF THE TALES OF THE MARQ

The MARQ Tales is a project that has formed part of the educational programme of the Alicante museum since 2007 and whose aim is to bring schoolchildren closer to the adventure of learning about the different cultures of our province through archaeology. At the beginning, the project was aimed at the youngest children, boys and girls who are studying at the Infant Education level from 3 to 5 years old. But we have extended the project to the other levels: Infant, Primary, Special Education, Secondary and Baccalaureate.

The aim of this project is for the museum to remain in the classroom throughout the school year.

All the pupils in each class will tell a story set in the historical period they have chosen (Prehistory, Iberians, Roman Culture, the Middle Ages and the Modern and Contemporary Ages) in the form of a fairy tale.

This year we have two new features:

  • A NUMBER OF KEY WORDS WILL HAVE TO BE USED WHICH WILL HAVE TO BE PRESENT IN ALL THE STORIES SUBMITTED.

  • THE STORIES WILL HAVE TO TAKE PLACE IN THE DIFFERENT ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARKS OF THE SEA, RELATING EACH OF THEM TO A HISTORICAL PERIOD OR AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE IN THE LOCALITY WHERE THE SCHOOL COMES FROM:

  • PREHISTORY: THE PLA DE PETRACOS SANCTUARY

  • IBEROS:LA ILLETA DELS BANYETS

  • ROMAN CULTURE: LUCENTUM,TOSSAL DE MANISES

  • MIDDLE AGES : ALMUDAINA TOWER

  • MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY AGES: you can choose between different important places in the city of Alicante or in the town where the school comes from related to the period in question.

The museum will provide the classroom with support material such as teaching guides, worksheets and information on the different historical periods.

The work will be complemented by a visit or workshop visit to the Museum and/or its archaeological parks.

There will be three categories:

1st Infant Education

2ndPrimary Education.

3rdSecondary and Baccalaureate education
