SPECIALIST COURSE
THE ANALYSIS, CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND CULTURAL METAL OBJECTS


        

 

In recent years there have been important advances in the techniques employed in the conservation and restoration of metal objects. Taking into consideration the present needs in association with the artisanal methods employed, new scientific and experimental perspectives have been introduced to record and preserve these types of objects.
The primary aim of this course is to provide a more rounded perspective and knowledge of metals and to understand their various components and their physical-chemical reactions and alterations.
In addition the course will identify and examine the most common problems confronted by conservators and restorers of cultural metal objects, as well provide information on the techniques used including the most up to date procedures in the field of metal restoration.

DATES:
The course is taught over 36 hours
The theoretical part of the course will take place between 13th and 16th October 2009 and the practical part from 19th to 23rd October. Time: 4 to 8 pm.

Alicante Archaeology Museum. MARQ
Plaza. Dr Gómez Ulla, s/n. Alicante.
The course costs 180 € which includes all materials and a certification of completion
